Meet The Team

After qualifying in Glasgow, David underwent his Vocational Training in General Practice in Aberdeenshire. Thereafter, he worked with children and adults with special needs in Glasgow, prior to working in oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontology, paediatric dentistry and orthodontics in the West of Scotland.

He also obtained his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow during this time. He then went on to complete his Masters in Paediatric Dentistry in the internationally renowned department at the University of Leeds, which was awarded with Merit in 2011.

At the same time, he underwent Specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry in both the hospital and primary care environments, completing his training in May 2012.  He won the MDDUS prize for research as an undergraduate student and won a national prize from the BSPD for his Masters research.

David has published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, as well as being invited to review papers for several publications.  He has taught and examined regularly for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow for a number of years, and was recently appointed as Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Leeds.  David is a Non-Executive Director of Dental Care Direct, a provider of Urgent Dental Care services across West Yorkshire, and sits on several national committees associated with the speciality of Paediatric Dentistry.

Clinically, his particular interests lie in the management of dental trauma, providing high-quality restorative care for children, medically compromised children and developmental defects and anomalies, but he enjoys all aspects of providing child-friendly dental care.

Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, as well as playing the  clarinet, keeping fit and following rugby union.

After graduating from the University of Sheffield Dental School with a Bachelors in Dental Surgery in 2017, I have gone on to pass the Joint Dental Faculties exam and, consequently, I am a member of the College of General Dentistry.

Before working at Blossom Dental care, I worked in a variety of practices, both NHS and private.

I regularly attend courses to continue to improve my skills.

I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, from complex cosmetic cases, to providing retentive dentures and good quality family dentistry.

I appreciate going to the dentist is an anxiety-provoking time for anybody, however I always do my utmost to put people at ease.

Outside of work I regularly play badminton in the York league and enjoy road cycling when the weather is good!

I graduated from University of Plymouth with a Bachelors in Dental Surgery in 2020.

I graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelors in Dental Surgery and Merit in Academic Dentistry in 2021.

I currently split my time between working at Blossom Dental Care and at a practice in Teesside. My days at Blossom Dental Care are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

I enjoy continuing to develop my skills and ensure I always maintain a high level of clinical excellence in my dentistry.

I grew up and attended school in rural Derbyshire, before moving north to Newcastle for University.

Outside of work I am a keen climber, hiker and runner. The North Yorkshire moors and Yorkshire dales provide a perfect location for that.

I graduated with a Bachelors in Dental Surgery from Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine Institute of Dentistry in Lithuania in 2004. I have since completed a Masters in Dental Public health at The University of Sheffield in 2017.

My days at Blossom Dental Care are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. On Thursdays I teach dental students at the University of Sheffield.

I like to think about myself as being a “family dentist”. I feel happy taking care of the whole family, starting with little ones, and finishing with seniors.

Having more than 15 years of experience in dentistry I strongly believe in the power of a smile!

In my free time from dentistry and teaching dental students, I love spending time with my family, reading good books, walking the dog, and traveling.

Amy is starting at the practice in November 2022.

I graduated from the University of Leeds with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy in 2021.

Since graduating I have worked at Blossom Dental Care.

I began working in the Dental Field in 2006 as a dental nurse and completed my City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Oral Health Care: Dental Nursing and Independent Assessment (RDN) from the North East Chamber of Commerce in 2008. I completed my ILM Level 4 qualification in Dental Practice Management from Barnet and Southgate College in 2017.

Originally from Teesside, I have worked all over the country and have gained a vast amount of experience over the years in each of the dental support team roles.

In my role I ensure care is patient focused, our team is well supported and our practice is safe. My focus is ensuring our all patients journey in practice are positive and happy.

In my spare time I love to read, I enjoy comedy gigs and finding hidden parts of York (away from the tourists). I enjoy spending time with my family and my 2 cats (Elsie and Walter)!

I completed my Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 with QCF City & Guilds in 2021.
